Energy and Transport Group works to reduce Crowborough’s carbon footprint by encouraging the use of sustainable energy and low-carbon transport across the community.

The group promotes alternatives to fossil fuels, including solar and wind power, heat pumps, electric vehicles, improved insulation and EV charging infrastructure. Alongside this, it supports walking and cycling and advocates for better public transport, contributing to conversations around East Sussex County Council’s Local Transport Plan.

Working in partnership with local authorities and community energy organisations, the group helps raise awareness of renewable energy options for homes and businesses. This includes organising events such as energy fairs and electric vehicle showcases to share practical information and connect people with trusted experts.

New members and project ideas are always welcome, particularly from people with experience of renewable energy, electric vehicles or buildings suitable for solar installations.
